      Red Clover health benefits

Red Clover is one of the most useful remedies for children with skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. It also works as an expectorant and antispasmodic making it useful in the treatments of coughs and bronchitis

The herb red clover can be used to treat:

      Childhood and adult eczema

      Childhood and adult psoriasis

      Whooping cough

      Bronchititis

      Spasmodic coughs generally

      Leg ulcers

      Side effects and contraindications

No known side effects or contraindications are known within the recommended doses.

Because red clover contains estrogen-like compounds, there is a possibility that its long-term use would increase the risk of women developing cancer of the lining of the uterus. Studies to date have been too brief (less than 6 months) to evaluate possible long term effects.

While there are no known side effects for pregnant and breast feeding women, it is generally advised that they should only take herbal remedies under advise from a qualified practitioner. This also applies to women who have breast cancer or other hormone-sensitive cancers

      Active compounds:

Isoflavones including biochanin A, formononetin and genistein. Phenolic glycosides, coumarins, cyanogenic glycosides

      Adult tincture dosage:

Based on a 1:3 ratio tincture take 2ml to 6ml three times a day
